I'm Ariq, a Computer Science student at SUTD in Singapore. My main obsession right now is fintech. I want to build the infrastructure that makes money move faster, smarter, and more transparently.
I'd rather ship something that works and fix it against real feedback than spend weeks polishing something no one's used yet.
When I'm not staring at a compiler error that turns out to be a missing semicolon, you'll find me on a climbing wall, or convincing myself that one more snack and one more hour of sleep is all I need before the deadline.

My first large-scale hackathon, and my laptop died partway through. Standing out among dozens of teams on borrowed time was harder than any of the code. VerifySG is AI-powered scam detection for Singapore: paste any message, SMS, email, or URL for instant analysis, plus community-verified alerts and shareable warning cards.
The real-time machine-status logic came together fast; getting Flutter's UI to look like a real product instead of default widgets took the rest of the weekend. Laundry Hub lets students check laundry availability across residential blocks live, with countdown timers, Notify Me alerts, and issue reporting. It runs on Android, iOS, Web, and Desktop.
My coding wasn't good enough yet to build what I was picturing, so the idea rode on Figma mockups more than working code. It still earned a commendation at PSA Hackathon 2022 Code Sprint (7–14 Oct), tackling a real logistics challenge in a week.
